Subject: Cohort 9C Assignment: One on One Deep Empathic Listening

Greetings

I hope your empathy buddy calls and Empathy Circles are going well. I look forward to seeing you all next Wednesday!

I wanted to give you an alternative exercise to do instead of (or in addition to) holding an Empathy Circle. It you are finding it hard to get an Empathy Circle organized you can just do  One on One Deep Empathic Listening with someone.

See the details to this new assignment here. There are also examples of this longer form listening there by myself as well as by Carl Rogers, the developer of the empathic listening process.

Edwin Rutsch Listens

Here are examples where Edwin listens to six people individually, who are in conflict. These are pre-circles in preparation to take part in addressing a conflict in a Restorative Empathy Circle.

Edwin

One on One Deep Empathic Listening

I sent this out to our Cohort 9C. It's a new assignment option that I wanted to let all the facilitators know about.
